Snorkel x Pumpkin Cave

My boyfriend and I went on this trip to celebrate our anniversary! We were both simply speechless and deeply moved by the mystical scenery that stretched out before us in the dimly lit limestone cave…♪ As soon as we went into the ocean, we even got to see a wild sea turtle—it made for the perfect anniversary memory! Our guide took lots of wonderful photos for us.

This was my second trip to Miyako Island, following last year’s visit, and this time I took a one-day tour that included an exploration of this limestone cave. First, I enjoyed the pleasant breeze while kayaking, and at Pumpkin Hole, I was overwhelmed by the power of nature… From the moment I was picked up until I was seen off, I was deeply moved by the guide’s warm hospitality the entire time.

First, we took a kayak out to Pumpkin Cave, where we felt the power of nature firsthand in the dimly lit cave. Next, we changed locations to go sea turtle spotting, and just as rumored, we were able to swim right alongside them nearby—it was absolutely thrilling. However, the footing was quite slippery when climbing up to the cave, so it would have been even better if they’d provided work gloves or something similar. The tour itself turned out to be a wonderful memory.

First, we paddled our kayaks across the calm sea toward a limestone cave; next, we explored Pumpkin Hall, where we felt the raw power of nature in its dimly lit interior; and finally, we headed to a different spot to swim alongside wild sea turtles. It was a truly luxurious day spent fully immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of Miyako Island. Thanks to our guide’s thoughtful care, even someone in their 50s like me was able to fully enjoy the experience without any strain. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

The last time I visited Miyako Island, I only went snorkeling, so this time I decided to try the cave tour and kayaking combo. As always, the chances of encountering sea turtles are high, which is wonderful. However, the footing inside the cave was quite slippery, so it would have been even safer and perfect if they offered work gloves or something similar for rent.
