One-on-one support

After completing basic practice in shallow water where we can stand on our feet, we will dive in the same shallow water for a test dive.

You will start when you are able to appreciate the fish in peace, so you can enjoy them to the fullest!

We also do ear removal frequently, about every 50 cm, so don't worry if you were in a hurry and had difficulty getting out.

Kayaffa (Nakanoshima Beach) is like a natural aquarium.

The dynamic topography is unique to Miyako Island, with a depth of 7 meters even on the in-reef, and is home to more than 100 species of tropical fish and more than 100 of the 350 species of corals that live on Miyako Island.â

Four of the six species of bear fleas said to exist in Japan (clownfish, white-tailed bearfish, hammerhead clownfish, and bear flea) can be seen here.

In addition to clownfish, visitors can also see more than 100 types of coral, including kelp coral, which has lived here for more than 300 years!

The diving experience at Nakanoshima Beach takes you to the bottom of the ocean at a depth of about 6 meters, and the clarity of the water is so high that you can clearly see the shapes and colors of the creatures even from the bottom of the ocean.

Regarding the glasses during the tour.

If you wear glasses, we can provide you with snorkeling glasses with power. If you need them, please let us know your eyesight at the time of application.
Since snorkeling glasses with ➡︎ power are limited in power, we recommend contact (disposable) glasses for contact wearers.

Location of the event

*There are no restrooms, showers, changing rooms, or other facilities at Nakanoshima Beach, where the event will be held.

*Please use the restroom before coming. The closest restrooms to the beach are located at the entrance parking lot of "Street Pond" (about 1.5 km north of Nakanoshima Beach)

*Please come with your swimsuit on. A simple tent will be available after the event. If you wish to use it, please let us know on the day.

*There are no showers or other facilities. Please use the hotel where you will be staying.

About the event

*Basically, the event will be held even if it rains, but may be cancelled if sea conditions make it unsafe.

If we have no choice but to cancel the tour, we will notify you as soon as the decision is made. If the tour is cancelled due to weather, no cancellation fee will be charged.

About your participation

No special skills or physical strength are required. Anyone in good health is welcome to participate.

Q. What is the depth of the kayaffa?

The depth is 5 m at low tide and 7 m at high tide.

Q. What is the water temperature in Kayaffa?

From May to October, the water temperature is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius, so you can swim in a bathing suit. From November to April, the water temperature is about 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, so it feels warmer in the water, but the temperature on land is cooler, so wearing a wetsuit is recommended.

Q. Can I do it even if I have poor eyesight?

You can do this. Use a mask with degree type.
*If you have contact lenses, we recommend that you use them.

Q. Are there toilets and showers?

Because of the pristine nature of the area, toilets and showers are not located on the beach, but there are restroom facilities nearby, and staff will provide bottles for showers after the tour.

Q. What are the criteria for organizing a tour?

If it rains, the tour can be held; if there is lightning, storms, or waves over 3 meters, the tour will be cancelled.

Q. What is the difference between the two?Is it okay if I am not a good swimmer?

This tour is recommended for everyone from young children to the elderly, as we guide you slowly and teach you.

The water was so crystal clear!! There were so many fish—it was literally like a natural aquarium!? Both diving and snorkeling were so much fun that I was on a high the whole time★ I got so many photos taken, and it turned into the best memory ever!!!

Since we entered the water from the beach, I was able to enjoy the dive without worrying about getting seasick. There were plenty of corals and fish, and the beautiful ocean truly lived up to its name as a “natural aquarium.” However, the area where we showered and changed was a bit crowded; if that had gone more smoothly, it would have been perfect.

I tried scuba diving on a trip with my girlfriend. It was our first time, so we were both a little nervous, but thanks to the instructor’s kind guidance, we were soon able to relax and enjoy the underwater world. I’m really bad at swimming, so I was worried the whole time before the tour whether I’d be able to dive properly. But since they let me practice my breathing slowly at my own pace from the shallow part of the beach, my fear vanished surprisingly easily! I was completely captivated by the colorful fish swimming right in front of me and the deep blue world around me♪ The guide’s kind support was truly reassuring!

First, I practiced equalizing my ears carefully at a safe beach where I could touch the bottom, and then, with the instructor holding my hand, I slowly made my way into the underwater world. The butterflyfish fluttering right before my eyes and the colorful coral reefs were more beautiful than any scenery I’ve ever seen in my life—it was truly breathtaking…! They even took some beautiful photos for me, and even as someone in my 50s, I was able to fully enjoy the waters of Miyako Island without any strain.

Given my age, I was really worried before the trip about whether I’d be able to breathe properly during a full-fledged dive, but since they took their time helping me get used to the water starting from the shallow beach, I had absolutely no problems. Even though I was traveling alone, I was able to enjoy myself without feeling self-conscious. I think it’s good value for the money. I really appreciated being able to efficiently experience both diving and snorkeling at Shimojishima in the morning, and getting free photos was a big plus. Since we entered the water from the beach, it felt safe even for older participants. However, if I had to mention one thing, it felt a little chilly after getting out of the water, so I’d recommend bringing a large towel to wrap around yourself right away. Overall, I’m satisfied with the experience.

First, we received a thorough explanation from the instructor on the beach and practiced breathing in the shallows. Next, we gradually moved into deeper water and took our time observing the colorful fish during our introductory dive. I was right. The ocean around Shimojishima is super clear, and seeing so many fish while diving—Taipa is the best! You even get the photos for free, so I have absolutely no complaints. Though, if I had to nitpick, there were a few spots where the footing was a little uneven.

The Natural Aquarium was seriously amazing lol. The moment I stepped into the ocean from the beach, there were so many fish—I got super excited! You can do both diving and snorkeling there, and the value for money is incredible. Plus, they took tons of photos for free, so I totally went wild lol. Nothing but Instagram-worthy spots! We stayed here on a trip with my boyfriend, and it turned into the best memory ever. I wasn’t confident in my physical stamina, and I was worried the whole time before we left whether I’d be able to keep up with the dive until the end. But thanks to the beach entry and the staff’s thoughtful support, even a beginner like me was able to manage just fine. I got to see so many fish in the crystal-clear ocean, and I’m really glad I took the plunge and joined the tour. If I had to mention one thing, though, the sun was really strong, so you should definitely make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen.

I think it offers good value for the price. I really appreciate that you can efficiently experience both diving and snorkeling at Shimojishima in the morning and get free photos. However, if I had to nitpick, since it’s a beach entry, walking a short distance along the sandy beach while carrying heavy gear was a bit physically taxing. Other than that, there were absolutely no issues.
